US import duty on goods from Canada

Every canadian shipment to the US now needs a customs entry — the $800 de minimis exemption is gone for both courier and post. On top of the ordinary MFN rate, Canada carries a 10% Section 301 duty.

Canada has a forced-labour import prohibition but was found not to enforce it effectively, which puts it in the 10% band. Note that USMCA duty-free treatment does not remove this: the Section 301 duty is a separate action and only the annex exemptions carve anything out. Separate July 2026 proclamations add duties on Canadian vehicles, dairy and alcohol — none of which are in the categories on this site.
